2. Start at the top and build a high level, empowered group to lead and support the change – getting the right people to drive this change is essential.

3. Get the story right – establishing a simple vision and strategy to steer the change.

4. Tell the story – communicate the vision and strategy with a core group of Champions who are willing to drive the change. Involve as many people as possible and communicate the essentials, simply.

5. Enable and empower – enable constructive feedback, understand and mitigate the opposition, provide support and guidance and recognise progress and achievement.

6. Quick wins – set and achieve some quick win milestone, use an ‘Agile’ approach and celebrate success.

7. Persist with the change – keeping your foot to the pedal, use the credibility from early success to continue changing systems and encourage, promote and celebrate those who can see and support the vision.

8. Making change stick – demonstrate how the change has been successful, continue to recruit supporters and bolster the new culture.
